[The man on the screen looks banged up and bruised--and, quite frankly, like hell. He just seems exhausted and bemused, not panicking like he probably should be. He'd left the apartment to do a bit of exploring then came back, entirely too exhausted and injured to do much else, but he's got a vague idea of where he is now. Right.]

Yes, hi. Hello? Is this like a Nokia?

[He leans back on the bed he's sitting on.] So I get it. Deserted town. Spooky. I'm past it. It's time to move forward. [He waves his hands vaguely.] I need parts. Durable and solid enough to deal with sustained flight-- You know what, I'll work out the details. I can salvage just about anything, so don't be shy.

And-- [Pause.] Really, is this it? Just this thing? [A bit of shaky cam as he examines the communication device again.] I guess with a few tweaks it'll function on a less...archaic level... So-- Look, am I alone? Am I talking to myself here? I know I'm fantastic to look at, but I'd love some sign of intelligent life here.

[Yep, he's already figuring out how he'd take it apart and use it to fix his suit. Better correct him soon, Al.]

No... it belonged to my father, and it's mostly steel, some iron too.

[He has no idea Tony is thinking such thoughts...]

Mind if I take it apart and have a closer look? I mean, it'll be a little heavy for my intents and purposes, but beggars can't be choosers.

I'll close my eyes. Come on, just a look. You're seriously all I've got here.

Really, can't you just look at it while I'm wearing it?

[JUST LOOK, RIGHT?]

[And yeah he's sort of knocking on it and moving around Al's arm and studying the way the joints move and poking and prodding...]

[The knocking would result in a very hollow sound, and it only takes one or two pokes to have Al swatting his hands a bit frantically.]

I said look!

Then you don't need to hit me and prod me... that's rude.

[He steps back.]

You aren't wearing the armor, the armor is you. It's part of you. Like skin, right?

[snacklist]

[Wow, that was an incredibly perceptive guess, and all Al can do is give an incredibly nervous and awkward chuckle.]

W-What?

I'm right, aren't I? It's not a suit-- It's you.

[He steps back and crosses his arms, his eyebrows raised.] I'm taking it you haven't...come out of the medieval-armor-is-my-exoskeleton closet yet?

I... don't know what you're talking about, I'm human. Just like you.

[SOBBING INSIDE FOREVER.]

I won't tell anyone, if that's what you're worried about.
