[The man on the screen looks banged up and bruised--and, quite frankly, like hell. He just seems exhausted and bemused, not panicking like he probably should be. He'd left the apartment to do a bit of exploring then came back, entirely too exhausted and injured to do much else, but he's got a vague idea of where he is now. Right.]

Yes, hi. Hello? Is this like a Nokia?

[He leans back on the bed he's sitting on.] So I get it. Deserted town. Spooky. I'm past it. It's time to move forward. [He waves his hands vaguely.] I need parts. Durable and solid enough to deal with sustained flight-- You know what, I'll work out the details. I can salvage just about anything, so don't be shy.

And-- [Pause.] Really, is this it? Just this thing? [A bit of shaky cam as he examines the communication device again.] I guess with a few tweaks it'll function on a less...archaic level... So-- Look, am I alone? Am I talking to myself here? I know I'm fantastic to look at, but I'd love some sign of intelligent life here.

[There's a pause, and he looks contemplative.]

There's a barrier at the edge of town, but there seems to be people beyond that. Not sure who, but they definitely know we're here.

I'll find out who they are. I got this, kid. [Probably not, but really, what sick fuck brings a kid out here? He is none too happy.]

A bunch of us have been here for a month. Um. It might sound really weird, but most people here are from-- different worlds? And no one's been able to tell anyone how to get out. There are some people who are gone, but they just-- disappeared?

I don't know if it's because they found out how to get out or because they were looking too hard and something happened to them.

You know, it doesn't, really. Sound that weird. [He sighs, rubbing his forehead.]

So, here's what I've got-- Abandoned town, surrounded by some kind of impenetrable barrier, no one knows how they got here-- Is there some kind of trend, something that associates all of us? We're gonna have to have a roll call here.
