[The man on the screen looks banged up and bruised--and, quite frankly, like hell. He just seems exhausted and bemused, not panicking like he probably should be. He'd left the apartment to do a bit of exploring then came back, entirely too exhausted and injured to do much else, but he's got a vague idea of where he is now. Right.]

Yes, hi. Hello? Is this like a Nokia?

[He leans back on the bed he's sitting on.] So I get it. Deserted town. Spooky. I'm past it. It's time to move forward. [He waves his hands vaguely.] I need parts. Durable and solid enough to deal with sustained flight-- You know what, I'll work out the details. I can salvage just about anything, so don't be shy.

And-- [Pause.] Really, is this it? Just this thing? [A bit of shaky cam as he examines the communication device again.] I guess with a few tweaks it'll function on a less...archaic level... So-- Look, am I alone? Am I talking to myself here? I know I'm fantastic to look at, but I'd love some sign of intelligent life here.

I can't actually help you with that. You might be able to find random things around town.

What-- I'm at a loss here. I have a perfectly valid ticket out of here laying right at my feet, you can help. You are perfectly capable of helping. Do you have legs, arms, semi-functional brain matter?

I'll help you look, but I wouldn't know where to start. So you're gonna have to start explaining, rather than throwing out demands and sarcastic one-liners.

Any kind of tool-- Screwdriver, wrench, hammer, drill, whatever you can scrounge up. As for parts, I can salvage anything-- [He counts on his fingers.] Car parts, steel pipes, vents, boilers, broken down furnaces, metal scaffolding-- If it's semi-decent-grade metal, I can work with it. I'll figure it out.
